Tour Information

Two cities, two shows, two of the most exciting groups thrown up from the underground in recent years’ electrically live in New Zealand!

Wellington, Feb 3rd 2009 @ San Francisco Bathhouse

Auckland, Feb 4th 2009 @ Kings Arms

“Bands should be fun and exciting, and they should push all the buttons at the same time. They should make you feel like you are going to explode, and make you utterly confused and inspired at the same time...”

So says Dean Spunt, who, along with Randy Randall, comprises LA duo NO AGE: the sizzlingly-hot act at the centre of the most inspired music climate to affect Southern California for eons. The bands Sub Pop debut Nouns has been hailed everywhere from Amsterdam to Atlanta to Auckland, a ‘truly psyched, soaring sound’ that NZ will now have the chance to hear in person rather than just on a record player.

And completing the double bill is another act that pushes all the buttons and makes you feel like exploding: the magnificent JAY REATARD, a Memphis artist who has busily re-defined the words ‘garage’, ‘punk’, and ‘prolific’ over the last decade. The last two years alone has seen the acclaimed album Blood Visions, and a relentless barrage of singles recently collected on two separate albums: Singles 06-07 (on In The Red) and Matador Singles 08 (on Matador, naturally).

Strangely, both acts are said to be partly-inspired by ‘Kiwi pop,’ who knew?

The buzz about this double-bill is huge; and these shows WILL sell out. The wise will get in quickly to ensure they don’t miss out.
