2010 If I Was – New “Atomic Rock” Single from Fuser
Auckland band Fuser announces the release of their latest single, If I Was. This hard
hitting track is lifted from their yet to be named sophomore album, due for release in
May.
The band is not afraid to mess around and have fun (their last single World of Make
Believe being about predatory middle aged women), however this time around the guys
tackle a more serious theme. The song’s writer, Ian Black explains: “Basically it’s about
living in someone’s shadow….not living up to their expectations. We’ve just finished the
video which portrays conflict between father and son…but hey, it could be about a
number of situations.
Fuser’s upcoming album is currently being forged at Beaver Studios on Upper Queen
Street, Auckland City. It is being produced by Dave Goodison (City Newton Bombers,
Garageland, Elemeno P).
Though the band has taken on a more somber topic with this latest offering, fans will be
glad to know their trademark ‘Atomic Rock’ sound is still in tact. If I Was is crammed
with crunching riffs, angry vocals and one hell of a guitar solo in the middle. “The music
definitely matches the lyrics…..it’s not a pretty song,” says Black.
During the time taken to record the new album, fans have been tantalised with glimpses
of songs. But now, upon the eve of its release, If I Was is the first official release. Let
there be rock!
