The Silhouette of Mr Pink 8.30pm
Like any silhouette The Silhouette of Mr Pink is most interesting at its edges. One can only imagine the terribly fiendish and crafty individual the silhouette represents – Mr Pink! Thank Zeus we will bear witness to only the silhouette on this draughty and intoxicating evening!
It began with flautist Tamara dusting off compositions she wrote over a decade ago while living in Paris, inspired by the images and various characters she happened upon the way...
The Silhouette of Mr Pink opened for New Music Collective’s two day jazz festival in Christchurch called “Jazz Slam” in November 2011 and the piece “The Silhouette of Mr Pink” was recently featured in an interview with Tamara on the “Jazz Footprints” show on Radio National.
Tamara, with fellow New Music Collective organisers Mike Story and Chris Burke, revisit these quirky compositions and add in some new flavours to the mix.
Featuring :
Tamara Smith – flutes
Mike Story – Bass
Chris Burke- sax
Plus special guests...
