They Might Be Giants are very excited (and so are we for that matter) to announce they’ll return to New Zealand for the first time since 2001 to play shows in Wellington and Auckland.
They Might Be Giants are basically the Two Johns - John Linnell on keyboards and accordion and John Flansburgh on guitar. They formed in Brooklyn, New York, which provided the perfect environment for them.
“If you’re into experimental wig design, or fringe-y rock stuff, New York is a place where you can find a community where you don’t feel like a weirdo,” (Flansburgh)
They have spent half their life together in the Giants, and have been responsible for some of the finest nerd rock of the past two decades.
Catchy melodies are delivered with a knowing wink & a sly bit of humor, that never crosses over into self-parody.
