A deep, warm rumble with a husky quality, articulate and soothing, and powerful when required, Stig was born in Sweden, raised in L.A, spent four years on Vancouver Island, and has called New Zealand home for the past thirty years.
A true entertainer and accomplished musician, Stig plays a wide repertoire ranging from folk, jazz, and ballads to the Blues. Piano and accordion are his instruments, and he currently performs in concerts and festivals in eight countries, on three continents, from New Zealand to Norway.
Stig is touring Central Otago, playing at the Carrey’s Bay Hotel, Port Chalmers, Friday March 6th @ 8 pm. Joining ‘The Piano Man’ on this tour, is Queenstown D.J. "Suzee Cream Cheese” spinning ’45 records between sets.
Stig will be remembered in Dunedin, as ‘The Prospector’ in the musical, “Rush”, about the gold rush in Otago in 1862, and the song, ‘Millie Hall’ staged at the Regent Theatre in 1998.
Although Stig is an actor, listing ‘Dick Tracy’, ‘King Kong’, and the narrator of “Power Rangers” for the past four seasons, amongst his credits, he is still best known as ‘The Piano Man’ by many, and loved by all for his great sense of humour and engaging performances.
