Gig Information

The Loft Series teams up with the We Love Music family to deliver a splendid evening of music. The Loft Series is an ongoing sonic series dedicated to some of the finest music the planet has to offer. Local and international late night live performances alongside producers and Dj's to take you on a journey through lush soundscapes, lost recordings and newfound gems, perfectly curated for your ears only! For the love of music.

Yoko Zuna haven't played a full live set in Auckland for a long long time and we are blessed to have the show. The musical talent involved is truly phenomenal. Expect a sneaky preview of whats to come from the much anticipated new album

Formed out of the ashes from one of Auckland’s most musically-creative hubs, Yoko-Zuna have in two short years established themselves as one of the most exciting bands in New Zealand. With their combination of unique electronic and hip-hop compositions, and a live show which is rarely bettered, Yoko-Zuna is an act with talent to burn.

With the release of their debut album, This Place Here, in 2015, Yoko-Zuna announced themselves to the greater music scene with an album showcasing a sound which hasn’t been previously seen in NZ – sub-electronic frequencies, melodic moments, and immense bass-synth-fuelled drops. The album combined Yoko-Zuna’s unique instrumental sound with some of the country’s most talented vocalists including David Dallas, Bailey Wiley and Team Dynamite, and in turn created a huge queue of willing collaborators such as P Digsss, Laughton Kora and Tom Scott, along with the fresh talents of Lukan Rai$ey, HEAVY and Larzranda.

Sumosui - is a New Zealand based DJ & record collector, full time enthusiast and unofficial researcher of musical traditions from the world around.

Diverse sets covering the endless amounts of amazing music coming out of the Caribbean, and also from the Caribbean diaspora in other parts of the world during the 70s & 80s.

Thom Clark
Difficult to find the words for this mighty moustached music brain, which pretty much covers it, a little master class with a record collection most would give their left nipple to own.

Chapman
Member of the all Woman powerhouse 'Lushelections' (weekly on Basefm 107.3 radio). A fresh addition to lineups around Auckland and beyond, this woman is no stranger to the dance floor. Bred on a steady diet of all things sound, Chapmans' voracious sensory appetite has taken her around the world literally and sonically. Quickly recognised for her discerning world view, Chapman brings carefully considered sets of danceable rhythms from all eras of soul/funk/jazz/disco/ and the electronic spectrum. Every corner of the globe will be connected by basslines and heady doses of emotional memory. Expect to dance.

Melanin Kin
Excited to see these guys again, all the colourful delights for your aural pleasure, these soul sista’s are here to deliver ‘Grooves of the World’ from another mother. This will be their 3rd show together and we are very proud to have them on the team.

Caston Major
Holding in down into the wee small hours, lover of all music under the 'We Love Music' banner and the curator, expect to move ya feet as Caston brings the boogie magic.

Bring your best self, dancing shoes, some good chat and maybe even a party frock, as always for the love of music.
