HOBO MAGIC - Noosa, Australia
https://www.facebook.com/hobomagicband/
https://hobomagic.bandcamp.com/

Hailing from the Sunshine Coast, Hobo Magic sling out a unique brand of old-school inspired psychedelic RocknRoll madness, with love of all things groovy and heavy. The talented trio kick out fresh sounding jams, spawned from the embers of the kings that riffed before them and strive to take the listener on a journey through uncharted places of the mind.

After their debut self-titled EP release and subsequent Australian tour in 2015, Hobo Magic have riffed and tripped around many of Australia’s clubs, pubs, bedrooms, skate parks and warehouses, ripping out their style of heavy grooving mayhem. The acclaimed act has supported such International heavyweight bands such as Earthless, Elder, Lecherous Gaze, Red Fang, Kadavar, Radio Moscow and The Sword, leaving ringing ears and smiling faces in their wake. The lads have just dropped brand new single The World Today and self titled effort Hobo Magic with two East Coast tours in support including appearances at Mojo Burning Festival and Negative Waves alongside the likes of Nick Oliveri (QOTSA) and Brant Bjork (KYUSS). Hobo will not be liable for any neck or ear damaged received as a result. Free beers accepted.

ARC OF ASCENT - Hamilton, New Zealand
https://www.facebook.com/ArcofAscentNz/
https://arcofascent.bandcamp.com/

New Zealands preeminent stoner/doom heavy metal band, Arc of Ascent, released their third album of psychedelic heaviness on 10th April 2017. The band toured the North Island is support of the album, but are looking forward to getting in front of a South Island audience.

Prepare yourself for a live set of relentless energy and power. With a truly heavy sound, the new album Realms of the Metaphysical gives fans more of what they love. This is showcased in the debut track Benediction Moon which incorporates the haunting sounds of the sitar alongside their trademark heavy grooves. Realms of the Metaphysical is released through Clostridium Records (Germany) and is available on CD, vinyl, and online.

Founded in 2008 by bass player/songwriter Craig Williamson, Arc of Ascents signature sound is fleshed out by Matt Cole-Baker on guitar, and drummer Mark McGeady. In a five-star review, Six Noises described the new record as having chanted vocals and driving bass interlocking with gritty riffs, thumping percussion, and brain-liquefying solos throughout the album, Arc of Ascent’s strengths as a rip-roaring power trio are in full effect.

Recently Arc of Ascent has shared the stage with the likes of Unida (USA), Kings Destroy (USA), Radio Moscow (USA), Monolord (SWE) and Ufomammut (ITL), and in 2017/18 the band is looking to take their brand of heavy riffing offshore, with gigs in Europe including Greece and Germany.

STONEHURST - Christchurch, New Zealand
https://www.facebook.com/stonehurstband/
http://stonehurst.band/

Since exploding onto the Christchurch stages in 2007, Stonehurst has made a strong impact in the music scene throughout New Zealand. Pushing the game to another level and living up to their reputation as one of NZs favorite upcoming hard rock/heavy metal acts, Stonehursts fan-base continues to multiply.

Stonehurst are pros at delivering live performances that thrill and steamroll an audience. they also have the grit to leave no stone unturned when its comes to writing songs that they truely believe in; songs that are distinct, fierce and immediate. Stonehurst draws inspiration form bands such as Alice in Chains, Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden and Pink Floyd. The four original members of the band - Tim Hunt on vocals and rhythm guitar, Braden Southee on lead guitar, David Hunt on Bass and Ben McGillivray on drums, formed in 2007, are still going strong. In 2016, Jay Arthur stepped in as the long awaited keys, backing vocals and percussionist, as the the last brick in the Wall of Sound.

With their new album Strange Urge being released in September, the rest of 2017 and 2018 promise to be huge as they take their sound worldwide.

BLOODNUT - Auckland, New Zealand
https://www.facebook.com/bloodnutband/
https://bloodnut.bandcamp.com/

Combining big riffs, catchy hooks and more soul than you would expect from a band of gingers, New Zealand based stoner sludge
band Bloodnut have been infecting people with groove since their formation in 2012. On the back of the release of their sophomore album St. Ranga, this will be the first time the band has played in Christchurch in over three years. Having played along side Torche, Red Fang, The Sword, Windhand, Cough, Brant Bjork and Beastwars; these gingers have built a decent following as one of the powerhouses of the stoner scene.

OPIUM EATER - Wellington, New Zealand
https://www.facebook.com/theopiumeater/
https://opiumeater.bandcamp.com/

The music of Opium Eater is diverse in nature, fusing a multitude of musical parameters. Lush, weighty atmospheres and hypnotic drones coalesce with complex arrangements and subtly shifting time-signatures, all laid beneath a vigorous triple vocal attack to create an all-encompassing sound which is both distinctive and exciting. Opium Eater have quickly gained a reputation for their extremely intense live performances characterised by a ferocious stage presence and powerful dynamics which often leads to a trance-like state in their audiences.

TRIUMPHS - Dunedin, New Zealand
https://www.facebook.com/triumphsband/
https://triumphs.bandcamp.com/

Triumphs are a two-piece instrumental sludge band from Dunedin. They describe themselves as two sad boys play music. Theyre into anything weird that parents hate.

…this is an equation where the sum is much greater than the individual parts. Instead of a simple 1 + 1 of drums plus guitar it is more like the formula for mass, multiplying density x volume. The power of The Riff is strong in Triumphs. Ian Henderson, Poplibnz

I cannot wait to hear more from these two. Sam Valentine, Otago Daily Times

ENFIRE - Christchurch, New Zealand
https://www.facebook.com/enfireband/
https://enfire.bandcamp.com/

Three piece stoner/doom locals with heavy, groove layered riffs and powerful, hypnotic melodies. These lads will make you dance the night away or permanently damage your lower spine.

YARNSPINNER - Christchurch, New Zealand
https://www.facebook.com/YarnspinnerNZ/

Crimechurch rabble, not too serious about much, other than melting faces with low tuned, big riffs and even bigger spliffs.

SHETLAND - Christchurch, New Zealand
https://www.facebook.com/shetlandband/
https://shetland.bandcamp.com/

SHETLAND grew out of an interest to play music for fun again. Writing music and drinking beers. Adding a drummer seemed like a relatively important step and was done so purely based on quality of tie.

With a line up change since their last gig SHETLAND look forward to playing both new and old tunes once more.

OLD HAVEN - Christchurch, New Zealand
https://www.facebook.com/pilgrimagetosalem/
https://oldhaven.bandcamp.com/releases

Psychedelic doom 2 piece exploring sonic depth, crushing riffs and esotericism.
