Kiwi troubadour Callum Gentleman is releasing a Killer and taking him on the road. The song and video for Callum’s new single Blue Collar Killer are out now, with an 11-date New Zealand tour with his band in September and October, after which he spends November touring Australia.
On Thursday 12th October Callum returns to Whanganui. He threw down his blues hollers and acoustic ballads in a solo set at The Whanganui Musicians Club in November last year. This time he’s bringing his ragtag band to town, and they’re playing at Lucky Bar. Lucky Bar’s reputation has started filtering out to the nations musicians, and it has already become a respected destination on many artists’ tour schedules.
For the Whanganui gig, Callum will be joined by local act Terry Sarten. Also know as Tel, Terry has toured the world with his guitar. His songs defy simple categorisation but there is no denying the way they connect with audiences. There may be a roots feel in one, alt country or Celtic swing in another then a touch of pacific blues coming through on slide guitar. He recently released a set of songs titled “Songs for Movies Never Made”.
