The creator of a new style of Drum and Bass music that fuzes influences from all corners of the globe, Manchester based Drum and Bass producer Dub Phizix began his obsession with music over 20 years ago. At the time Dub Phizix, (or George to his mum) was just someone who annoyed the neighbours. By 10 years into his career of music construction, Dub Phizix was an accomplished producer having made music in a variety of styles for MTV, BBC, Nokia and 4Music.Having reached 4 million views on Youtube, 2011 and 2012 will be remembered for the impact ‘Marka’ has had on not just drum and bass, but electronic music in general.Dub Phizix has traversed the globe and taken his unique sound to all six continents including shows and tours across the US, India, China, Brazil, South Africa, Australia and more as well as being one of the most in demand DJ’s across the UK and playing nearly every major city in Europe with appearances at major festivals including Exit, Global Gathering, Outlook, Boomtown and many more.

For such a stalwart of the Manchester and UK underground music scene, it’s hard to believe that Zimbabwe born Chunky is yet to enter into his late 20s.
Picking up a mic and appearing on sets around the city as a teenager, his individuality would see him hold down mic duties at residencies at two of the city’s most recognised nights, Hit&Run and Hoya:Hoya. He’d also become the frontman for True Tiger, Swamp 81 and Riot Jazz as well as being the man asked to host sets by everyone from Jackmaster, Oneman, Ben UFO to Detroit underground legend Dabrye and seemingly endless DJs from festivals in Europe to the coasts of Australia. Chunky is more than just a mic man though and proved this by releasing ‘The Chunky EP’ on Swamp 81 in late 2012. The four tracker featured a take on underground dance music that echoed the individuality of his mic skills. It received widespread acclaim and saw him appearing on line-ups playing music as well as continuing to be as in demand as ever on the mic. Drawing influences from all corners of the shop, Chunky’s DJ sets deliver seriously weighty selections delivered with pure exuberance, as proved by his sets at Hoya:Hoya, Fabric, Soundwave Festival and more.

Sam Reed aka Tokyo Prose has established himself in the top echelon of world-wide liquid Drum & Bassproducers. His tunes have found themselves into the crates of artists like Calibre, Marcus Intalex, DJMarky, Presha, London Elektricity, Lenzman, SpectraSoul, Logistics, and many more.

He was first snapped up by Samurai Music back in 2008, when Tokyo Prose were still a duo. Three years later came a breakthrough double-pack 'Introducing Tokyo Prose featuring standout tunes “Saving Grace and Rose Without Rain. Collaborations with Soul:R’s Phil Tangent and NZ’s Fis soon followed and showcased the versatility of the Tokyo Prose sound. After relocation to the UK signings to Hospital Records and Sun & Bass Recordings were seen as stepping stones leading to 2014's mighty debut album - Presence.

Presence marked the culmination of Reed’s musical exploration and evolution up until that point encapsulating the soulful, emotive vibrancy of the Tokyo Prose sound, now fully formed and refined. It is as complete of a Drum & Bass album as you will find; varying BPM's and featuring artists throughout - every track leading into the next with pin-point precision. Clever introductions of celebrated vocalists DRS, Riya and Fox, with collaborators including Lenzman, Synkro and LSB push Reed's variation whilst keeping a polished aesthetic with a firm focus on musicality and groove.

Reed's stint living and DJing in the UK took his career to a new level. He returned home to New Zealand mid way through 2015, allowing him to further focus on his music. The 'Dawn Chorus EP' was released on Samurai Red Seal and featured four varied, blissful tracks pressed on a stunning gold 12 record.

Soon after saw his first feature on Marcus Intalex's hugely respected label Soul:R with 'Tell Me', on the 5th edition of the popular Fourfit series . That was followed by a couple of tunes on another established label, BCee's Spearhead Records; again working with LSB on his 'About Tonight EP' ('It Finds You') and aremix of BCee’s 'The River Runs Dry'. He has also recently helped to launch Hybrid Minds new self-titled label; with a Tokyo Prose remix of the vocal anthem 'Touch' (featuring Tiffani Juno) starring on the flip.
