Gig Information

Coastal Promotions is proud to present - Heavy Rollers 2 (A Night of Drum and Bass - Sub Zero)

Thursday 2nd of August - 9.30 pm - 3.00 am
Doors open at 9.30 pm

Fifty Gorillas - 66 Princes Street, Dunedin.

After an insane sell out first show for Coastal Promotions, we have decided to diversify. For our second show, we wanted to differentiate by not just doing another gig in Wellington, while still providing the same stellar showcase of Drum and Bass as Heavy Rollers 1. Therefore we have decided to brave the cold and go on tour to the Mecca of underground Drum and Bass in New Zealand, the one and only Dunedin.

Once again we have hand-picked a lineup stacked with the finest talent in New Zealand Drum and Bass, with artists from every corner of the country. Headlining the night we have the legends themselves DowDz B2B Malsa with an electrifying jungle set. Joining them we have fellow Totara records members Smithers and Law, who is making his Dunedin and Heavy Rollers debut. Also playing there first Heavy Rollers set we have Dunedin’s Shortball and Auckland’s Sholz. Sholz will be opening up with a hectic Jump Up set to get the night rolling. Gracing the stage for Heavy Rollers once again we have the one and only Dislocate. Last but not least, Coastal Promotions own Worthy and Elisara are making the trip down for the main support duties for the night.

Come and support the Underground Drum and Bass scene and an up and coming concert promotion company, trying to provide you with the best possible live events. For students by students. The tour has only just begun!

Early Birds and General Release tickets go on sale 9.00 am on Wednesday the 27th of June from justtheticket.co.nz

$10 - Early Birds
$15 General Release
$20 Final Release

Lineup

DowDz B2B Malsa
Two of Totara records frontmen collide forces once again to provide Dunedin with one of the most versatile and unique B2B sets in the country. After testing the waters with there B2B set at the Beaver Ball, the duo are back to take their performance to the live stage. Crafting a jungle set exclusively for Heavy Rollers 2, they are ready to bring the energy in the prime time headlining slot for the night.

Shortball
One of the key members of the Half Time Oranges lineup since its conception, and Coastal Promotions visual director - Shortball was an easy pick for the Heavy Rollers 2 lineup. Having opened for local and International legends such as Danny Byrd and Trei. Shortball is going to bring a fresh sound to Heavy Rollers, which still stays true to what we are all about. That is showcasing all sub-genres and the DnB genre overall in a live event with the rawest talent in the scene.

Dislocate
Since playing Rhythm and Vines 2017 and closing for Macky Gee (Dunedin), Dislocate has truly solidified himself as one of the most promising and talented acts to come out of New Zealand Drum and Bass. An absolute don on the decks and one of Ruff House crews most crucial members, Dislocate returns to bring the heavy hitters at his second Heavy Rollers performance.

Smithers
After murdering the stage as the headline act for Heavy Rollers 1, Smithers is back with a vengeance for HR2, but this time we are in his town. For his next show, Smithers is doing a B2B set opening for Flowidus, but he has promised to exclusively return as a solo act just for us. Once again bringing the energy to the stage, or as he puts it - bringing all the hot girls to the show.

Worthy
Coastal Promotions CEO and now Resident DJ/Promoter at Wellingtons Club 121, Worthy returns to his second home to play his first ever set on stage in Dunedin. Having completed the Castle Street flat party circuit in O week under his alias Rob Soulsbillich, he is no stranger to the Dunedin Drum and Bass scene. He can't wait to return with a new set drawing from all forms of the genre to electrify the stage once again for Coastal Promotions

Law
A fellow member of Totara Records and Lord of the late night froth, Law is also playing his first ever live set in Dunedin. Renowned for playing the loosest fucking set your school ball has ever seen and his killer mixes at Dunedin flat party’s, Law is ready to explode onto the stage and lay it down heavy for the closing slot of the night.

Elisara
Coastal Promotions own, and new 121 Resident DJ and Promoter, Elisara will be setting a vibe with a deep liquid set. Switching it up from his last show the Wellington DJ will be drawing from the likes of Hybrid Minds and Monty to break in the crowd for one hell of a night after Sholz does the opening honours.

Sholz
AKA Xanu Sholzavei or Sholz Hard-Core. The undisputed king of Jump Up DnB in New Zealand is hanging up his boots as resident DJ at Auckland’s Provodor to make his Dunedin and live show debut. He’s been preparing for over 2 years for this day to finally come, racking up over 1000 total plays on his sound could mixes. You already know he is truly going to provide one of the craziest opening sets you have ever seen.
