Cat! Cat! Cat! return from the depths of ages ago to play Whammy Backroom with our great pals The Smoking Daggers!!

Fast forward to 2018 and Cat! returns for a two-show reunion, this time joined by the inimitable Mario (aka Muz) Posa taking on bass duties. The shows will include ‘best of-greatest hits’ plus some random covers thrown in for good measure.

It's been a while and we're super looking forward to it! $5 if you mention this flyer!

There will also be some djing by the good Cats.

Who are we?

Cat! Cat! Cat! first emerged on the scene in the late 90s as an impromptu sometime-collaboration of friends from Fake Purr (Brenda and Steph, guitars) and Xanadu (Bruce, drums) playing sporadic performances of snappy covers mixed in with a few originals. They played their first show in 1999 as a surprise and it wasn’t until 2002 that they played again. Eight songs learnt in 3 days for two gigs ensured no two Cat! gigs would ever be the same.

2003 proved to be a turning point with the Cat! sound fattened out by the addition of Shaun Jury (ex-The Aesthetics) on bass and a more regular practice schedule. The result was more performances and the recording of a 7 track CD.

In 2006 the band performed a record 8 shows (according to Bruce’s memory!). This included (ad)venturing outside of Auckland to play Whanganui and Wellington with pals the Bloody Souls.
