Coastal Promotions are extremely proud to present - Heavy Rollers 4 (The Grand Finale) ft. TREi

After a huge first year for Coastal Promotions, we are bringing it home! We go back to the birthplace of Coastal Promotions & Totara Records, the epicentre of NZ Drum and Bass, the one and only - Auckland. Since it is the grand finale of Heavy Rollers, we knew we had to step things up a bit. In response to this, we have secured one of the absolute best in New Zealand Drum and Bass as the headliner - TREi of Viper Recordings!! Backing TREi in support will be the finest talent in up and coming Drum and Bass. We have sourced artists from all over the country for this one. Without a doubt, this is bound to be our biggest show yet!

The goal for Coastal was to take Heavy Rollers (A Night Of Drum And Bass) to New Zealand’s 4 main city’s, showing each and everyone what Coastal, Totara Records and student Drum and Bass was all about. We have now achieved this feat and it is time to celebrate! We are going all out on providing the most memorable and breathtaking show to kick the summer off right. For the students, by the students!!

Come party with Coastal Promotions & Friends to celebrate the start to summer and a massive first year for our little company. Come to support some students who have taken their passions to the next level, only to develop the scene and provide other students with the best night possible!

Lineup

TREi
TREi, AKA Trevor Linnell, has been a leader in the drum and bass scene down under since 2007. With a slew of producers coming from Australia and New Zealand including Pendulum, ShockOne, State of Mind, and Concord Dawn, TREi has made a name for himself with releases on prestigious labels such as: Viper Recordings, Technique, Commercial Suicide, SOM Music, Shogun Ltd, Samurai Music, and Uprising Recordings.

2013 saw the release of his much anticipated second album, ‘Satellites’ (on State of Mind’s SOM Music imprint), released to much acclaim. Packed with hard-hitting beats, progressive rollers, and proven Dancefloor smashers including the singles ‘Change Your Mind’ (with Thomas Oliver), Homecoming (with MC Tali) and ‘Running” (also with Thomas Oliver), as well as collaborations with The Upbeats & State of Mind. Continuing on from where 2009’s highly acclaimed debut ‘Innuendo’ left off, ‘Satellites’ has propelled TREi even further into the musical stratosphere.

TREi’s association with Viper Recordings goes back to 2011 where he made his debut on the label with the single ‘The Light / Mumbo Jumbo’ and a series of tracks featured on various Viper compilations including ‘Habituated’ and ‘Placebo’, as well as his first Beatport #1 with the smash hit ‘Seeds’ in 2014. Following the success of ‘Seeds’, TREi released another huge track with Viper in the form of his remix of Tali’s ‘Forces’ from Viper’s ‘Decade of Viper’ 10-year anniversary album.

Finishing the year in style, TREi capped off an amazing 2014 with the ‘Empires EP’ released on Drumsound & Bassline Smith’s Technique Recordings. Receiving massive support from Friction on BBC Radio 1, the lead title track ‘Empire’ was selected as the prestigious ‘Friction Fire’ track of the week. Now signing exclusively with Viper Recordings, TREi will be working on his next string of singles and EP’s for the label in lead up to his next studio album and his headlining performance at Heavy Rollers 4.

Dislocate
To get a really good idea of Dislocates undeniable talent, all you need to do is look at his Cellar stage performance at a sold-out Rhythm and Vines in 2017, which was his first year out of High School. Dislocate’s since supported Macky Gee and Hybrid Minds and without a doubt has carved his name into the New Zealand Drum & Bass scene. A true master on the decks and one of Ruff House crews most promising artists. He has headlined our own Coastal Promotion’s Heavy Rollers tour in Wellington and Dunedin! After only two years in Dunedin, he’s also played support for Tokyo Prose, Flowidus, and State of Mind. The Hawke’s Bay local also opened for Trei and Dick Johnson at the MadCap Secret Garden Party and sold out Dunedin in Half Time Oranges 2, 3 and 4. After his most recent gig playing the Rhythm and Vines Soundcheck in Dunedin, Dislocate is hot of the press ready to bring the vibes at Heavy Rollers 4.

Law B2B Malsa
Law (the undisputed king of the late night rollers) joins forces with Malsa (one of Totara Records most prolific producers) for the first time at Heavy Rollers 4. Both these 2 have rocked the Neck Of The Woods stage before opening and closing for Tokyo Prose, as well as opening up for Camo and Krooked in Dunedin. Both have a lot of shows under their belt and a lot of talent up their sleeves, so this rare B2B is set to be like none other.

Smithers
The true rockstar of Totara Records returns to Heavy Rollers once again to bring you one of the most unique and versatile sets you have ever seen. Smithers has opened for legends Danny Byrd and Camo and Krooked just to name a few. Smithers has a heavy and refined sound that keeps the hot girls entertained all night long.

Shortball
Hailing from Christchurch, Ed ‘Shortball’ Hone has recently cemented his name in the New Zealand Drum and Bass Scene. The kid’s born and bread on CDJs and knows how to keep the people partying! His last 3 years in Dunedin have seen talent discovered in UniCol flats, evolve into a more serious pursuit. Having now supported world-class acts such as Danny Byrd, Tokyo Prose, Annix, DC Breaks, Loadstar, Rene LaVice & Bensley, he’s also performed in support of many local legends including Trei, Truth, and State of Mind. A member of Half Time Oranges since it’s inception, recent times have seen him touring the country as part of the formidable Coastal Collective. ShortBall is North Island bound, with Auckland being the final destination. Expect a comprehensive set spanning all genres of the Drum and Bass spectrum, in an intimate show that’s bound to get the people bumpin’.

Worthy
Coastal Promotions C.E.O and 1 of 2 Drum & Bass resident DJ’s at Wellington Club 121, Worthy is absolutely amping to provide Neck Of The Woods with the most insane and versatile show it has ever seen. He has opened for BCee & LSB, two absolute dons in liquid Drum & Bass, as well as hosting and organising the whole show. This will be his first time performing in Auckland, but not his first in the North Island! Having played Wellington countless times, including opening up for Skeptical at the Breaking Beats Halloween party.

LUCA ft, Debris
Infamous DJ of Omni Potent, Jess B and even Eno X Dirty, LUCA has really made a name for himself in the New Zealand music scene. He has played at Rhythm and Vines twice, Northern Bass once and the 2017 Our House Festival’s trap stage. On top of this he plays in Auckland consistently and has toured around New Zealand DJ’ing for popular local hip-hop artists. A Coastal close associate and friend, he has decided to switch it up with a Trap/Drum and Bass set for Heavy Rollers 4 with NZ’s best grime rapper Debris on MC. This is set to be a wild start to the night.

Elisara
Coastal Promotions second in command and head of the Resident DJ side of the business, Elisara has been absolutely killing it ever since his first live performance at Heavy Rollers 1. Well known for throwing the craziest flat parties in Wellington in 2017 while holding it down all night long on the decks. He has opened for Bcee & LSB and Annix, as well as co-running the show for Coastal. He is beyond ready to lay it down for his first ever performance in Auckland!
