Cricket Farm (Hayley Robertson and Sims Ross) are back at Kumeu after playing there a year and a half ago. They have been described as whimsical folk with the Auckland based indie-folk band releasing their debut album with the enchanting name of Bending Spoons in late 2017. It has been described by the band as “music for hopeless romantic conspiracy theorists”… a statement such as that is simply intriguing and led me on a wonderful journey through 12 tracks of the bands thoughts and feelings accompanied by a stunning and honest indie-folk, gypsy jazz soundtrack.
Vox Venus (aka Heather Bolton) performs music from the inner realms of outer space. Fusing analog synths, vintage drum machines, autoharp and ukulele, the band creates a soundscape of infectious melodies, driving beats and magical refrains.
