Fortress Europe is the sound of a rocket made of electric guitars launched from a Soviet-era research facility smashing into a Black sea freighter carrying a cargo of radioactive violins and Sergio Leone movies on VHS.
The latest musical adventure of Auckland composer and multi-instrumentalist Leon Radojkovic (Dr Colossus, Live Live Cinema, Brel, Peter and the Wolf), Fortress Europe is a contemporary, guitar-driven take on the music traditions of the Balkans, and an exploration of odd meters, serpentine scales and making a racket.
