Wellington Jazz Festival 2019

8pm: The Novltones - Jasmine Lovell-Smith (soprano saxophone), Blair Latham (bass clarinet), Tristan Carter (violin) and Alistair Isdale (double bass).

The Noveltones present their Observer Series, new original works culled from the various bubbling thoughts that everyday observing brings, neatly juxtaposed with images for the eye and mind. The Noveltones are an improvising chamber quartet based in Wellington, featuring the unusual instrumentation of violin, soprano saxophone, bass clarinet and double bass. Combining their strengths in jazz, composition, experimental and world music, the Noveltones create a musical experience entirely their own.

9pm: Little Symphony - Saxophone Quartet

Anton Wuts and Blair Latham present Little Symphony, a saxophone and clarinet quartet of unparalleled breadth and breath and width and wind! Joined by the extraordinary horn-blowing talents of Oscar Laven and Jake Baxendale to form a once in a lifetime foursome they will play anything, literally anything!! (As long as it's for four horns and composed by said players, of course).
