Christchurch trio Pine (Stephen Mccarthy, Aaron Beehre, Hannah Beehre) are back for one show after a 10 year hiatus as part of the Christchurch Arts Festival
They recorded 5 albums on the iconic Auckland label Arch Hill Recordings, mostly with Lyttelton Recordings Ben Edwards ( Marlon Williams, Nadia Reid ) at the helm and became the first South Island signing to the roster
Pine are returning to the stage after a 9 year hiatus for a one off set supporting the Bats. Their low-fi guitar based tunes are reminiscent to Yo La Tengo, Nada Surf and early Flying Nun acts like the Clean and Look Blue Go Purple and their minimal set up of guitar, keyboard, snare and floor tom sees them keeping everything stripped back to it’s core. Low fi pop at it’s finest - perfect for winter nights.
