Genre-bending hack cinema and guitar-driven soundscapes come together to create extra-dimensional voodoo and dark magic!
Students and staff at the Ilam School of Fine Arts have a long tradition of being involved in the city’s live music scene and to honour that, Ilam Press Records and the School of Fine Arts are serving-up a truly immersive audio-visual experience.
This speculative, poignant evening will feature local bands performing improvised scores to moving image works by fine arts alumni Ronnie van Hout, Tjalling de Vries, and Luke Shaw. Live soundtracks will be performed by No Exit, Space Wolf 2 (Dunedin), The Opawa 45s.
Curated by Senior Lecturer and initiator of Ilam Press Records, Luke Wood, the selected artists and musicians have a shared tendency towards dark humour and transcendent horror, all with one foot in the shadowy underworld of NZ rock and roll.
