NZ composer/musician Julie Bevan has a long-standing connection with Brazil. Its unique music and original styles serve as an inspiration to Julie’s multicultural compositions. Her latest album “Kaleidoscope” is eclectic with flamenco, jazz, kiwi and Brazilian music styles, all vying for the listeners attention. It draws on all the musical experiences and styles of music Julie has been involved in over the years.
Six tracks were composed in Brazil and were recorded there in August 2018. The remaining four tracks were composed and recorded in Wellington in November 2018. Musicians from both Brazil and New Zealand participated in this album. They bring their unique insights into the music.
