Punk It Up are very proud to announce more additions to the already stunning lineup for Punk It Up V.
Celebrating Halloween on Friday October 30th and Saturday Oct 31st , at the birthplace of New Zealand punk rock, Zwines (The Bluestone Room in AKL's CBD), PIU V promises to deliver not one, but two excellent punk rock'n'roll nights that are not to be missed.

The PIU V crew are hella happy to welcome to the fold The Plague, one of New Zealand's first ever punk bands, featuring members of Blam Blam Blam, Pop Mechanix, and The Swingers, The Plague are yet another act getting it together specially to play at these 2 evenings of classic and current bands across the Kiwi Punk years.
PIU V are also stoked to have Tigers playing on the Saturday night. Tigers, the first ever Māori punk band, are a trio of brothers who played at Zwines and other venues back in the day, so it's a bit of a nostalgic return for them, and also for the lucky punters.
One of PIU's usual suspects, X-Features, have also stepped up to drop a few salvos of beautiful cacophony on the crowd at Zwines on a Saturday Night in the City of the Dead..... Last but not least, opening the evening's proceedings on Sat night will be Devils Got-9, featuring members of The Misunderstood, The Morning Horns and another band called The Plague, but not the one above... confused?... you will be!

Also, as well as separate night tickets available, each online ticket page also has an option for a 2 night ticket, because we assume with such great lineups already on each night, most punters will be going to both nights... Tickets are selling very fast, and it's no wonder because of the fact that The Bluestone Room has a reasonable, but finite, person limit. This event was sold-out 4 weeks before the actual gig last time, so we advise you to get your entry sorted asap.

Friday already has the Instigators (reforming especially for PIU V, for the first time in decades!), Proud Scum doing their well-known version of rabbiting on stage, the classic sounds of The Bludgers, The Barbs, and some in your face noise from current ass-kickers Dick Move, and now, with the addition of The Plague, you're not going to find a better 'Friday knees-up anywhere.

PIU V continues the sonic noise maelstrom on Saturday night with one of Hamilton's finest current bands - Contenders, the well known yee-haa, yippe-aye-yay of The Johnnys, the wall of sound that is Auckland's The Bombers, and one last final appearance from No Tag, who assure us you'll get an aural massage like never before!
Now that Tigers, X-Features, and Devil's Got-9 have joined Saturday's lineup, you're surely gonna be wanting to get the double-dose of full-flight entertainment being offered.

Closing both nights, as is tradition with Punk It Up, will be bankRobbers, the all star covers band with X-Features/Fetus Productions musical guru Jed Town, No Tag's Andrew Boak, The Bombers' Shamus O'Brien, and X-Features drummer Chris King. They'll be making you pogo the night away with some well known covers, from both New Zealand and overseas punk bands, and will be joined by a plethora of guests from the NZ punk scene including Sonya Waters and Ed Geddes (The Instigators), Nick Hansen (Spelling Mistakes), Dean Martelli and Chris Orange (Terrorways/X-Features/Rebel Truce), with Dean playing his Burns Flyte guitar, that graced the cover of the essential NZ album AK79, and was recently re-purchased by Dean thanks to a very successful crowd-funding effort.

Put all that together with a massive lineup of DJs including Dubhead, Miss Dom, Phil A, R.G. Bargy, Wastemaster, Johnny&The Dambusters, and many more, playing everything from punk to ska to reggae and anything else they want to, in between the bands (and late into the night at both night's after parties), information booths from some extremely worthy causes, and the myriad of vendors plying their wares, like band t-shirts and records etc etc, and you have a night, or in this case 2 nights, that you'll remember for a very very long time.

Speaking of records, Punk It Up is proud to announce it's first release on the Green Recordings label, a very limited edition, five song 7 E.P. from Rebel Truce - The Lost Tapes E.P. that will only be available at the gig itself. The E.P. of course has a remastered version of the kiwi punk classic The Man Inside

N.B. Punk It Up will endeavour to keep the lineups as above, but reserve the right to adjust them slightly if logistics require.

alternative, punk/hardcore, rock
