Pangaea is a world Fusion band from India and NZ. It is a collaboration between Tabla player and Percussionist Saptak Sharma, New Zealand Composer and Classical Guitarist Mike Hogan, and Sitar and Flute player Mayank Rainer. The trio performs across a wide range of musical genres, including Hindustani Classical, Western Classical, Celtic folk, and Contemporary folk, blues and rock song structures, each time bringing something from outside the traditional forms to the music.
Pangaea was formed in 2017 in New Delhi India and has since performed across India Nepal, Australia and New Zealand. The group has two of the most talented young Hindustani Classical musicians in India and one of New Zealand's leading Classical guitarist and composers, and together they experiment in fusing these styles into new forms. In December 2019 the group will release their Debut self-titled album.
