Gig Information

Pyramid Club is happy to host saxophonist Neill Duncan.

Neill lived in Wellington in the 80s, lending his powerful, exploratory saxophone sound to pioneering bands including The Six Volts, Primitive Art Group and The Spines. A leading improviser with roots in traditional jazz, Neill was one of NZ's most inventive saxophonists throughout the 80s and 90s.

Neill's been living in Australia for the past 25 years, continuing his musical journey. Most recently that has meant coming to terms with playing the saxophone one-armed after losing a limb. Through his struggle to re-learn the instrument, Neill has come to cherish the fragility the one-armed sax has forced into his playing.

Neill is performing original compositions and is joined for two by:

Anthony Donaldson (drums)
Tom Callwood (double bass)
Steve Roche (trumpet)
David Donaldson (double bass)
Cory Champion (vibes)
Daniel Beban (guitar)

8pm doors.
$10 presales through www.undertheradar.co.mz
$15 on the door.
