Three Dunedin acts play on the Bark Stage.
Nick Knox is a pianist, songwriter and singer. His musical style reflects the neo-gothic architecture of the city, and is similarly grand in theatricality, yet quite intimate in performance. Nick’s sound is at once gruff, delicate, and soulful, laced with baroque sensibilities. Using exotic modes and Arabic scales, he weaves complex emotionally immersive offerings on the keys, in conjunction with dark tender vocals.
Rosa Black (aka Bethany Robertson) has been playing regularly in Dunedin over the past three years. An astonishing vocal power and precision, and gifted songwriter. Her style and presence often draws comparisons with Amy Winehouse. An amazing talent.
The Paper Frogs, a newly emergent Dunedin Duo, fresh edgy songwriting. Raw yet subtle. Very much talent to watch.
