NEW DATE ANNOUNCED DUE TO POSTPONEMENT FROM COVID-19

Kia ora friends of Pluto and Banished Music
As some of you (but not all of you) will have seen on social media, we have postponed the upcoming Pluto date, due to the ongoing and evolving Covid-19 situation.
We have rescheduled the date to Saturday October 24th (Labour Weekend!), in the hope that you will hold onto your tickets, rather than asking for a refund. As you may have seen from lots of industry providers, this is how you can help and support Pluto, and Banished Music through a very difficult time that we are facing together.
That said, we understand that you also could be facing a tough time, given the financial implications of Covid-19, so if you do need a refund, please contact us and we can arrange it.

Nothing is required from you, simply hold onto your tickets and turn up to the new show.
If you are unable to make the new date, but are in a position to donate them to friends, please do so, if that is not an option, but you are in a financial position to forgo your refund, which effectively passes on the cost of the tickets to the artist, we encourage you to visit ForgoMyRefund.org.

This tool allows ticket buyers to forgo their refund to support artists and event organisers who have had to cancel their events. Though the public are concerned about how this outbreak will affect them personally, there is also already a huge sense of how the public can support local organisations and businesses which are core to our communities.

Many thanks and hope you are all keeping well, safe and OK, in this crazy time!
Team Banished

After almost a decade away, iconic New Zealand rock band Pluto are back. After two explosive album release shows in November
to celebrate the release of their fourth full length album, IV, they have announced an intimate and special performance this Easter Saturday at one of New Zealand's favourite venues, the Leigh Sawmill.

Banished Music presents
PLUTO - Live at the Sawmill
October 24th (Labour Weekend) - Sawmill Cafe, Leigh

Pluto’s nascent trajectory has covered the spectrum of the New Zealand musical stratosphere, bursting brightly onto the scene in 2001 just to have their star seemingly burn out just as abruptly in 2009. It would have been a suitably intriguing end to befall one of the finest, most exciting and alluring bands New Zealand has ever produced.

Pluto mastered the art of the multi-layered rock sound – sometimes indie, moody and restrained, at other times hook-laden hand-clap pop, often angular, full-energy, anthemic rock. Through the mid 2000’s, Pluto was at their zenith, consistently writing rock songs that traversed the musical landscape combining thoughtful, intelligent lyrics with sonic pop melodies to create evocative, memorable and seductive songs.

Pluto hit the ground running in 2001 with charming debut album “Red Light Syndrome” bringing them to national attention with songs ‘Hey Little’ and ‘She’s Jive’. This was followed up in 2005 with the double-platinum selling ‘Pipeline Under The Ocean’, which featured the critically acclaimed hits ‘Dance Stamina’, and ‘Long White Cross’ which took out Single Of The Year in 2006 at the NZ Music Awards. 2007 saw the release of third studio album “Sunken Water”, after which the band capitalised on their wider appeal and continued touring extensively with their high-energy performances revealing a band at their peak live.
