The return of most of New Zealand to Level 1 means Wellington Folk Festival is all set to go at Labour Weekend, Friday 23 to Monday 26 October.
Wellyfest 2020 will run at the regular venue – Brookfield Outdoor Education Centre in Moores Valley, near Wainuiomata.
Due to the international Covid-19 travel restrictions, it will be a totally homegrown event, which means the Festival can feature more top class New Zealand performers in its three-day programme.
The line up is:
Darren Watson, Entrada, Mehana, Colette Rivers, Barry and the Crumpets, Grawlixes, Moroney, Sadie & Jay, Gumboot Tango, Raven Mavens Quartette, Alan Downes, The Flukes.
Vicfolk (Victoria University of Wellington Folk Music Club) will run the welcome ceilidh and the big Saturday night dance, and the Balladeer Specials invitation stage will be in action all weekend.
The jam-packed programme includes music and dance workshops, blackboard concerts, singarounds and jamming.
Early bird prices are available till Sunday 4 October at https://wellingtonfolkfest.simpletix.com/Event/57568/WellingtonFolkFestival2020
