[...] Oscar Ladell is playing at my wedding. Period. He doesn’t know it yet and I’m not engaged but it’s happening.
- Samuel Seedsman, Fine Tune Magazine
LaDell sounds a precocious talent who can undeniably play blues and rock across the spectrum
- Graham Reid, Radio13
This tight 4-piece original blues band from Dunedin is freshly cut food for the soul. Frontman and second generation blues singer Oscar LaDell expertly leads each tune with stirring, velvety vocals and dynamic lead guitar licks. Nestled right in there behind him is Ruairi Griffin’s shimmery rhythm guitar hooks, punctuated by Oliver Robson’s
solid bass riffs and Rani Cohen’s funk infused drumming. Hoot’s set rambles through songs of hardship and longing to hypnotic crescendos that work any audience into a fever. These boys really know how to howl.
