Gig Information

The virtuosic energies of Good Habits (UK alt-folk) and Cade Hansen (NZSD) collide in this gig-theatre collaboration exploring why humans dance.

“THERE'S A RARE EMOTIONAL WARMTH AND FULLNESS TO GOOD HABITS' SOUND.”- Songlines

A new piece of gig-theatre about why and when we as humans dance. Award-winning UK alternative-folk duo, Good Habits, are joined by contemporary dancer Cade Hansen to present their latest international collaboration. Displaying their virtuosic cello-accordion playing within original electro-acoustic genre infused composition, they tell a new story.

Composed of singer-cellist Bonnie Schwarz and accordionist Pete Shaw, Good Habits create folk-infused songs that test the limits of their traditional instruments. Award-winning composer and sound designer Bonnie has worked with Manchester and London’s most established theatres, creating new and innovative sonic experiences. Pete is an experienced performer who bases his style around many different folk influences; from Irish to Klezmer, Pete has performed across Europe and the United States of America.

Good Habits launched their duo project in October 2019. The standing-singing- dancing band have played over 40 shows across New Zealand, including at the Resolution, Splore, Revive, Canterbury Folk, Sanctuary Sounds and Loudmouth festivals.

Cade is a 2020 graduate of the New Zealand School of Dance majoring in Contemporary Dance. He has previously performed at the Tempo Dance Festival, Auckland Fringe Festival and the World Of Wearable Arts in 2018.
