Gig Information

It's time for Love - not War! Spend some time in the company of two bands who have uplifting things to say with music...

Catgut & Steel (named for the strings on their instruments) have a sound bigger and fuller than two musicians would normally command - yet they play all their own instruments and use no backing electronica of any kind. Their repertoire is amazingly eclectic from Celtic tunes to contemporary covers, klezmer to country; but always with the strong vocals, harmonies and swinging rhythm styles for which they are renowned.

Both Sides of the Line formed in 2009 in Dunedin, New Zealand. It is a band with an eclectic mix of retro pop, rock, country, surf and rockabilly sounds. The name Both Sides of the Line comes from a song by Wanda Jackson, the Queen of Rockabilly, who has been a big influence on the songwriting of Glenda and John. The band released their first EP, 5, in August, 2012. This was followed by a full-length album, Sideshow in 2013 and Party Line! released in 2016 . Their latest album, Dangerous! was released in September 2019.
