Ōtepoti-based folk-pop quartet Laney Blue are on their way up the country in support of the release of their debut album 'Dreamer Too', playing Valhalla on May 11 with support from Pōneke locals Mystery Waitress & Ingrid Saker.
With honest, heartfelt and at times melancholic story-telling, Laney Blue mixes pop’s melodic sensibilities with the noise and racket of Dunedin music stalwarts. Fronted by Olive Butler (Repulsive Woman, Adelaide Cara) and Nick Tipa (Violet-Ohs, A Distant City) and supported by friends and musicians-in-arms Jeremy Clark (Fazed on a Pony) and Zac Nicholls (Koizilla, Space Bats Attack!), Laney Blue promises to win over Aotearoa, one heart at a time.
Mystery Waitress is the project of songwriter Tessa Dillon, who sings amongst the band’s glittering indie-rock. Their music builds from dark country crawlers into disco beat bangers, always retaining their melancholic edge.
Ingrid is the frontwoman of bluesy punk rock band Ingrid and the Ministers. Her solo performances offer a more intimate set of blues and folk inspired songs.
