One of the breakout players of the South London jazz scene, Yussef Dayes today announces his debut New Zealand tour, starting at Wellington’s Meow on Tuesday June 7.
Yussef Kamaal emerged in 2015 as a partnership between Yussef Dayes and fellow Londoner Kamaal Williams, and their 2016 album Black Focus has been one of the most heralded jazz records of recent times. In 2018 Yussef Dayes began releasing his first solo tracks, before partnering with Tom Misch in 2020 to record their acclaimed joint album What Kinda Music as well as release solo live album Welcome to the Hills.
Arriving in New Zealand off the back of hot ticket arts festival shows for VIVID Sydney and RISING Melbourne, Yussef Dayes invites New Zealanders to join him on a rollercoaster through jazz this June.
