Gig Information

All ages Lunchtime show - ticket includes buffet lunch that starts from 12 noon with the show starting at 12.30

Aotearoa’s most beloved and enduring ‘original ukulele trio’ have been wowing audiences up and down Aotearoa and Australia for over a decade. They have performed at events as diverse as Arts and Folk festivals to WOMAD as well as inspiring thousands of school kids throughout the country. The Nukes recently won the best NZ children music video award

It’s original, inventive, quirky and Kiwi.
Part vaudeville, part rat-pack, part musical car crash, this talented trio delivers an engaging mix of humour and originality that audiences of all ages will love.

The Nukes return to the stage this winter to support the release of a brand new album ‘Homespun’. With an ‘ANZAC’-like determination they have overcome line-up changes and countless covid-related show cancellations to rise from the proverbial ashes to create an album of compelling ukulele tunes and a brand new show.
For more than 15 years this unlikely band of musical miscreants has traipsed around Australasia, bringing joy and harmony to all they encounter. And now they’re back on the road with ukuleles in hand and a swag of new songs. It’s time for audiences old and new to check out what the band have been cooking up over the last year or two.
The Nukes consist of founding members and long-standing songwriting team Ben’Country-boy’ Collier (Goldenhorse) and Dave’Fingers of Fire’ Parker (Rhythm Cage/ Parker Project). We can announce these two self-proclaimed ukulele nuts will be joined by Jay P, the golden-voiced son of Dave, making the band a family affair.
This July the Nukes will also offer a handful of ukulele workshops in combination with shows for kids and adults. Expect family-friendly entertainment with their trademark humour, as well as top-flight musicianship, 3-part harmony and great songs. What are you waiting for?? Book now by visiting www.thenukes.co.nz

The Nukes have appeared at WOMAD NZ, SPLORE, Auckland and Canterbury Folk Festivals, Oamaru Heritage Festival, New Plymouth Festival Of Light, Wanaka Festival Of Colour, Coastella Festival, The Taranaki, Southland and Hawkes Bay Arts Festivals, Bluff Oyster Festival and a successful nationwide Arts On Tour NZ March 2017, They have also toured extensively in Australia.
