Gig Information

Off the back of their debut EP release late last year Melondrone are hitting the road and bringing their psychedelic/shoegazing rock n roll circus to Auckland with support from Finn Johansson and Groopchat.

Melondrone:
Hailing from Te Whanganui-a-Tara, Melondrone seamlessly blur the lines between grunge and psychedelic rock.
With in your face excoriating lyrics on top of modulating fuzzy guitars and an unrelenting yet groovy rythym section with some quiet moments thrown in between the wall of noise.
Enjoy!

Finn Johansson:
New Zealand's Finn Johansson will midwife you through your biggest feelings with his low-key devastating lyrics, instantly iconic tunes and magnetic personality. Fresh from touring Europe and Australia, releasing the song of the autumn with Ny Oh, and hard at work on his next record, he's slowly figuring it all out. Don't miss your chance to see him live at an exciting and crucial time in his career.

Groopchat:
This Groopchat has three members… no admin!
Huia (bass, vocals) Aiyana (guitar, vocals) Teina (drums) formed last year and have been
ripping through Tamaki Makaurau with their strong grooves and catchy hooks. Although
continuously evolving as conversation does, GroopChat originally draws inspiration from
relationships and the world around them. Their sound is influenced by britpop and flying nun
bands of the 90s, one of these being Elastica. Keep an eye out as they are hoping to record
in the near future.
