About the Artists:
Michael Hodgson (Misled Convoy) is a pioneer in Aotearoa’s electronica scene. He began his journey with Tinnitus in 1985, expanding into live AV performance and sound design in the 90s with the Projector Mix and then onto legendary Pitch Black alongside co-creator Paddy Free.
Rooted in a musical family from Whakatū, Hodgson’s passion for experimental sound and visual communication drove his unconventional path, curating multidisciplinary events showcasing his music and video art across various spaces and genres.
His unique sound, influenced by dub and field recordings, evolved into Misled Convoy which emerged as an avenue for his avant-garde exploration.
Brother Antony Hodgson has been a pillar of the Nelson Arts Festival since our early days and is not only an amazing AV artist but also a huge advocate for empowering rangatahi in the creative sector.
