Rameka Tamaki (Tūhoe, Maniapoto, Samoan, Tongan, Irish) is a Classical Guitarist from Aotearoa, New Zealand. He brings a diverse repertoire that explores the Mediterranean Sea, Argentinian Tango and Baroque, to contemporary classics from Jazz and Pop music arranged for the guitar.
With 20 years on his instrument he completed his BMus with Honors First Class at The New Zealand School of Music, Victoria University. His performances include The New Zealand Opera Company, Performance Space at Carriageworks Sydney, the Matariki Ahi Kā Festival, Gardens magic, and recently at Los Angeles for Kapa Haka.
He has also been commissioned to compose music for organisations such as The Department of Conservation and collaborates with Taonga Puoro practitioners, singers, violinists, and Toikupu (spoken word).
