Tāmaki Makaurau jangle rockers Cowboy Dan are releasing their debut full length album; Dreams That Feel Like Falling. The album drops 19 September on streaming & vinyl.
Never overblown or overproduced, Dreams That Feel Like Falling is direct and intimate. 11 tracks of warmth, sincerity and brashness that strike a balance of breeze and overdrive.
To celebrate the release, Cowboy Dan are heading out for a run of shows throughout Te Ika-a-Māui in September and October.
This Tāmaki Makaurau show will kick the tour into gear at the delightful 605 Mornigside, with support from the wonderful Echo Children and other special guest to be announced soon.
Once aptly described as The Bats on the right amount of Red Bull, Cowboy Dan has been treating audiences across the motu to energetic, emotionally charged tunes since 2015. Their live shows have consistently delivered good times to fans and new friends alike.
Off the back of two delightful EPs: We Will Hesitate, When We Eventually Wait (2017, Mixed by Jonathan Pearce); Sentimental Now That We're Leaving (2021, Mixed by Rohan Evans), the debut LP, Dreams That Feel Like Falling, is a continuation and a few steps forward, showcasing the bands expansive sonic pallet, with a mix of distortion, introspection, heart and bite.
Following in the long tradition of innovative Aotearoa indie bands, Echo Children craft a distinctive sound by melding psychedelic pop harmonies with sharp alt-country songwriting.
Gather your pals and get on out for a night of alternative Aotearoa tunes. Special guests for each stop of the tour to be announced soon xxx
