Goth Night returns to Ding Dong Lounge—and this one’s for everyone who’s ever felt the pull of the underground. Whether you’re goth-curious or a seasoned shadow dweller, this is your invitation to step into a space where the music is magnetic, the community is real, and every shadow has a story. Since its launch in 2022, Goth Night has become a cornerstone of Auckland’s alternative scene—a place where post-punk purists, darkwave dancers, and gothic rock romantics come together across two levels of pure sonic immersion.
Upstairs at Dead Witch, the live lineup is stacked with artists who embody the spirit and evolution of the genre. From Dunedin, Robots In Love deliver a powerful fusion of electronic and rock—cinematic, emotionally charged, and darkly beautiful. Their sound moves effortlessly between melodic synthscapes and heavy, guitar-driven intensity, creating a sonic experience that’s both immersive and unforgettable. Joining them are Wellington’s Breaches, a rising force in Aotearoa’s post-punk scene. Their music is moody, magnetic, and driven by deep basslines and atmospheric tension, with a live show that’s immersive, visually compelling, and built to connect. Rounding out the bill is Auckland’s Stars and the Underground, a post-punk act blending shoegaze and dark electronic textures into something hypnotic and deeply personal. Their sound is atmospheric, emotionally raw, and built for catharsis—music that wears its darkness proudly and invites listeners to find beauty in the shadows and connection in the noise.
Downstairs in the main bar, DJs Gravedigger, The Doctor, Ravebat, and special guests will be spinning everything from Bauhaus, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Joy Division, The Cure, and The Sisters of Mercy to newer icons like Perturbator, Drab Majesty, Twin Tribes, and She Past Away. Expect gothic rock, post-punk, darkwave, industrial, and synth-heavy club cuts all night long.
