Witness the hard-swinging Big Band One from the Te Kōkī New Zealand School Of Music Performance Programme.
The NZSM Big Band is one of the flagship performance ensembles for the jazz programme and plays regularly throughout New Zealand.
Led by Daniel Hayles, the band shows off the next generation of Pōneke jazz talent in a signature swinging, brassy, high-energy style. Expect music from COunt Basie, Steely Dan, Mingus, Peggy Lee, Raye, and many more. Join us for a night of multi-genre celebration, from swing-era gems to modern classics.
Students from all year groups join for a night of classic swing, hard bop, funk and fusion styles in a large ensemble format under the direction of Eilish Wilson, Oscar Lavën and Daniel Hayles.
