Prince Headed to New Zealand This Month

Prince Headed to New Zealand This Month

Friday 5th February, 2016 1:34PM

Pop icon Prince has FINALLY been announced to be headed to New Zealand after coming so tantalising close in 2012. No dates have been released yet but a press announcement just released has confirmed the purple one will be headed to New Zealand and Australia THIS MONTH as part of his solo 'Piano & a Microphone Tour'.

The tour is a first for the artist who usually always performs with a back-up band, most recently 3rdeyegirl, and was due to start in Europe last year but this leg was cancelled after the Paris attacks which could explain the short notice visit down-under.

Prince is never far from the airwaves due to his many many worthy hits but he has also been incredibly active over the course of his career, releasing albums on a near yearly basis. Most recently he released Plectrumelectrum and Art Official Age in 2014 which he followed up with HitnRun Phase One and HitnRun Phase Two last year.

We'll be back with more details as they come to light - here's a bit of Purple Rain to celebrate the good news...

UPDATE: The date has been set! Wednesday 24th February, ASB Theatre, Auckland - more details HERE.
