Listen: Te Huhu - Rainbow Connection

Te Huhu are an Auckland shoegaze-psych band comprised of Dave Weir, Sam Smith and "The Big Hungry". Word has it the trio have been quietly toiling away on a full-length release, but in the meantime they've treated us to their psychotropic rendition of 'Rainbow Connection', a song originally sung by Kermit The Frog in 1979 film, The Muppet Movie.

Te Huhu's version takes a dose of inspiration from the Splintered Reality cover, though they've definitely made it their own - as they put it: "A few years ago we took a bunch of acid and realised we couldn't find a cover version of Rainbow Connection that suited our vibe."
