Widowspeak Announce New Album + Share Lead Single 'Dog'
NYC outfit Widowspeak have announced a new record and shared Mazzy Star-esque lead single 'Dog'. The group, which centres around core members Molly Hamilton and Robert Earl Thomas, will be releasing Expect The Best via Captured Tracks in August as a follow up to their 2015 record All Yours. Speaking to NPR about 'Dog', Hamilton said:
"[It's] about the compulsion to move on from things and places, even people, when you're not necessarily ready to. Sometimes, I get caught up in 'the grass is always greener' mentalities, or cling to an idea that 'I'd be happy if...' and then make a drastic change. Then, inevitably, I feel restless a few months later and it starts again."
The track comes accompanied by a dusky video directed by Otium, check it out below...
Expect The Best is out 25th August via Captured Tracks
