The Clean To Be Inducted To The New Zealand Music Hall Of Fame

Monday 11th September, 2017 9:09AM

Beloved Flying Nun group The Clean are set to be inducted into the New Zealand Hall Of Fame at the APRA Silver Scrolls later this month. Having previously turn down the accolade twice, it turns out third time is a charm and the seminal Dunedin band has finally agreed to accept the honour and join the ranks of the Herbs, Dave Dobbyn, Bill Sevesi and Moana Maniapoto.

The ceremony will see the band's three current members David Kilgour, Hamish Kilgour and Robert Scott inducted into the Hall Of Fame, as well as founding member Peter Gutteridge who passed away in September 2014.

Earlier this year The Clean received the Independent Music NZ Classic Record Award For 'Boodle Boodle Boodle' for their formative EP, Boodle, Boodle, Boodle.

This year the Silver Scrolls are being held in the band's hometown of Dunedin, taking place at the Town Hall on Thursday 28th September.

The other awards presented on the night are:

● APRA Silver Scroll Award
● APRA Maioha Award, celebrating exceptional waiata featuring te reo Māori
● SOUNZ Contemporary Award, celebrating excellence in contemporary composition
● APRA Best Original Music in a Feature Film Award
● APRA Best Original Music in a Series Award
