Premiere: Alexa Casino Shares New Video 'Blu'
Wellington digital pop producer Alexa Casino has released a brand new video for dreamlike single 'Blu' from her recent EP Cheer Up Try Hard Tear Up Cry Hard. Beautifully filmed by Taylor Galmiche and Zac Sutton, the video features "lots of Wellington babes dancing around in baby blue co-ordinated outfits" styled by Kate Baxter. Casino is celebrating the video's release at this Wednesday's Give Peace A Chance protest party at Westpac Trust Stadium in Wellington alongside computer musician Disasteradio, and will be supporting US artist Nite Jewel's capital city show. Here's the artist on how her video came together...
"'Blu' is a song from 'Cheer Up Try Hard Tear Up Cry Hard', the EP I released in August. It’s a crush song, about having a crush and thinking about them a lot and I guess the case with 'Blu' is seeing blue, everywhere, and thinking of my crush, too much. I first wrote this song a while ago, but revamped it for my EP and live shows, it’s got more of a danceable beat now. I wanted the video to reflect all these things, but also those moments in the club where you spot someone hot, and you’re having fun and are performing your flash dance moves, you give looks, you feel shy, but the music’s still pumping so you close your eyes and keep dancing because you can see their face without even having to look."
