Thursday 26th July, 2018 1:17PM

Rising star of New Zealand pop Theia has shared a vibrant video for her latest single ‘Bad Idea’. The vivacious clip was shot on summer day in LA, directed by and starring fashion designer and professional roller skater Sailor D. Gonzales, along with co-skaters  Natalia Ruiz and Miriam Morales.

The tune’s honest lyrics about the singer’s struggle with self-harm were co-written by Emily Warren, who contributed her compositional prowess to EDM titans The Chainsmokers' Grammy-winning track ‘Don’t Let Me Down’. Theia explained the overarching metaphor of skating equating to to life which features heavily within the clip.

“Sometimes life gets you down and you have hard times. You fall over. Sometimes you dust yourself off and jump up again; other times you need a helping hand.”
