Listen To Big Thief's Psych-Folk Single 'Century'
Brooklyn's Big Thief have unveiled a mystic slice of psych-folk titled 'Century', the latest shot fired from their third studio album U.F.O.F., which is launching this Friday via 4AD / Rhythmethod and has received advance props from online tastemakers Stereogum, who've already named the collection their Album Of The Week. Singer / guitarist Adrianne Lenker croons cryptically over bewitching guitar-strum and somnambulant rhythms on the new tune, delivering a featherlight appetiser for Friday's main course. Reflecting on the themes of U.F.O.F. (the second F stands for "Friend"), Lenker stated, “Making friends with the unknown... All my songs are about this... If the nature of life is change and impermanence, I’d rather be uncomfortably awake in that truth than lost in denial”.
'U.F.O.F.' is out Friday 3rd May via 4AD / Rhythmethod.
