Nathan Haines Auckland Shows Announced

Tāmaki Makaurau's Ponsonby Social Club have grabbed the bull by the horns in our post-lockdown era, with a programme of stellar events to wet your live show whistle already lined up for the near future. Jazz legend Nathan Haines will take over the central city venue in mid-June for a special two night headline run, fresh from the recently remastered re-issue of his 1994 opus Shift Lift. He'll be joined on the first night by Jonathan Crayford (Two Farben) and tabla player Manjit Singh, and on the following Saturday by Polish born pianist Michal Martyniuk, drummer Stephen Thomas and bassist Cameron McArthur. Two New Zealand Jazz legends join Indian born tabla player Manjit Singh for a hybrid cross-pollination of musical ideas and grooves.

June 20 Nathan Haines and Michal Martyniuk (piano) - Young award winning Polish born pianist Michal Martyniuk joins Nathan Haines and a swinging rhythm section for an evening of acoustic modern jazz and improvisation of the highest calibre.
