Kate NV Reveals Single / Video 'Plans'

C.C. / Wednesday 27th May, 2020 1:27PM

Moscow electronic artist Kate Shilonosova aka Kate NV (which my computer auto-corrects to 'Kate NZ' every time) has dropped the latest in a killer run of singles in the lead-up to her new album Room for the Moon, releasing in mid-June via Brooklyn-based tastemakers RVNG Intl. The infectious grooves of Kate NV's 'Plans' come along with an incomparably stylish video directed and edited by Shilonosova with Pavel Kling, casting the artist as the well-dressed host of her own channel Kate TV, which we wish ruled the airwaves 24/7.

“The song is about plans and the absurdity of the events surrounding us. It is about how everything constantly collapses and changes, that nothing is really clear and that it is impossible to plan everything... It was written before the pandemic and economic crisis, and turned out to be as relevant as ever now. It may sound like the meaning is harsh, but the song itself is very funny and sarcastic and it is more about still having fun while there is a complete disaster around us.”

'Room for the Moon' is out on Friday 12th June via RVNG Intl.
