Revulva Announce Get Phoebe To New York! Fundraiser

Getting Aotearoa party-goers bumping with the funk-soul-jazz sounds of their 2024 self-titled album, Revulva are back together for a special fundraiser to help launch leader Phoebe Johnson (also of Dateline) onto the international stage. Last spotted on stage in April, the Pōneke collective playing a sure to be stonking summer rager at Rogue and Vagabond, with the noble aim of getting Johnson to New York City to study at the New School. "That’s right — Revulva are reuniting for one final hit in Wellington: a fundraising show to get Phoebe to New York City!

Easing you into summer, Revulva will play two sets at everyone's second home (the Rogue & Vagabond) on Saturday 6th December as a final fundraising effort to get the band’s leader, Phoebe Johnson, to New York to study a masters degree at the New School for January 2026.

After their last sold out home show at Meow in April for the Album Reminder Tour - the band hugged goodbye unsure of when they would reunite next, everyone heading seperate ways for the foreseeable. With international plans delayed, the original Wellington lineup are coming together one last time to see off Phoebe for her next chapter in New York City.

Phoebe began Revulva in 2019 in her final year of jazz performance at Te Kōkī New Zealand School of Music to throw a funky, theatrical, 8-piece hat into the Wellington scene. Since then the band have released two chart topping albums, toured the country up and down with several sold out shows, numerous sweaty festival slots, they’ve opened for international acts such as Mononeon, Snarky Puppy, and Donny Benet, as well as making first ventures overseas with a sold out show in London last month. And now, Revulva will spread its wings to the United States.

There will be guests, merch, maybe a sausage sizzle or bake sale if the Rogue let us. Tickets will go live on UTR on Wednesday 12th November - one last “I Love Pussy” on three!"
