Weekly Round Up: Friday 15th May

Friday 15th May, 2015 3:01PM

This week brought with it a few interesting tour announcements. Hip hop artist Earl Sweatshirt is going to be heading back this way for two shows off the back of releasing new album I Don't Like Shit, I Don't Go Outside. All five members of formative gangsta rap group Bone Thugs-n-Harmony will be here for two concerts in July.  LA-producer Shlohmo is heading downunder with his cohorts from the WeDidIt collective, the trip will include a couple of full-band shows on these shores. Jay Electronica is coming to Auckland for a special one-off show at the Kings Arms in July. Locally, Desperate Models have announced a six-date vinyl release tour and at the same time revealed they will split following the June jaunt. Talented singer-songwriters Bic Runga and Tiny Ruins have announced a co-headline tour that will take them around the country kicking off late June. And on the festival front, Soulfest will be returning in October and the first line-up announcement boasts heavyweights including Mary J Blige, Jill Scott, Talib Kweli and De La Soul.

In release news, loveable rogue Mac DeMarco shared new track 'The Way You'd Love Her' from his forthcoming mini-album cheekily titled Another One. New York-based musician Sharon Van Etten also unveiled a new track by the name of 'Just Like Blood', which is part of her upcoming EP due out in June. Ty Segall has put his fuzzy footprint all over the new record by Seattle surf-rock group La Luz, who enlisted the prolific garage musician to come onboard as a producer for their soon-to-drop album titled Weirdo Shrine. In local news, She's So Rad are streaming their new album Tango, which comes out today through From The Crate and Muzai Records. Noisenik Campbell Kneale aka Our Love Will Destroy The World shared new song 'Hades Iron Horizon' from his upcoming vinyl-only album. And Boycrush unveiled a new synth-pop single featuring the vocals of Madeira, the solo moniker Kim Pflaum - formerly of Yumi Zouma.

This week's Caught Live is a pair of musician's not often featured on UnderTheRadar, Miley Cyrus and Ariana Grande, but we couldn't go past their cover of Crowded House's 'Don't Dream It's Over'...
