Tour Information
Award winning musicians Holly Arrowsmith and Amiria Grenell are hitting Southern roads this Spring for a short and sweet tour- but not like audiences have seen them before.

Grenell and Arrowsmith are uniting to offer a new live experience to their fans, for their first shows as a duo named Coyote, bringing Folk, Americana and Country songs of old into a new light, with some fresh (and well loved) originals too.

After supporting one another's solo work for seven years, Arrowsmith and Grenell have the musical chemistry only time can produce. 'Often we'd join each other on stage if we were at the same Festival or show, and we saw how much people enjoyed hearing us together.

For years we've jumped in and out of each other's music, and Amiria is always one of the first people I play new material to. We know each other so well, and with that comes a great ease in singing together. For both of us, this is an exciting new project from touring mostly solo for years.'

Both songwriters have received the Tui Award for 'Folk Album of The Year' and in 2019, Arrowsmith was awarded the APRA Country Song of The Year for her track Slow Train Creek, penned in the Rockies of Colorado. They have both toured globally, but always come back to intimate shows in New Zealand. Their music is well loved and listened to from Arrowtown to Onekaka and beyond.

Daughter of legendary Country musician John Grenell, Amiria grew up on a farm in Whitecliffs, Canterbury where her family hosted decades of music festivals in the back paddock. She followed her heritage into a colourful and long standing career as a touring artist and respected songwriter.

Her crystalline voice finely balances between gentle restraint and emotive strength, with instrumentation that is equally impressive. Skillfully
navigating the guitar, or keeping time on the Irish Bodrahn.

Holly Arrowsmith was born in Santa Fe, New Mexico to an American Father and New Zealand born Mother. Her family owned an antique store 'Arrowsmith’s Relics of the Old West' that welcomed passersby such as Patti Smith and Johnny Cash into their collection of Native American and Cowboy artifacts. When the family moved to New Zealand in the late 1990’s, they brought with them their love for South Western history. Growing up near Arrowtown in the Wakatipu Basin, these two cultural identities are woven through Holly's music. A gentle hand of Country and Americana storytelling, and a deep reverence for New Zealand landscape, create a strong and grounded sense of place in these songs.
