N8VSOUL - New Zealand Tour 2020

N8VSOUL is a reggae-influenced, dub/electronic collaboration between New Zealand singer, songwriter & producer Carla Werner and Cali-Native bassist, Alison Wünderland. The pair were introduced in the Summer of 2015 at SoCal’s reputable reggae festival, ‘Reggae On the Mountain’ where they played their first show with their ‘now’ regular drummer Rock Deadrick (Ziggy Marley), and keys/horn genius of John McKnight (Fishbone). As a duo, the pair produce an electronic fusion of dub, roots reggae, featuring live vocals & instrumentation and have worked closely with and supported reggae giants such as Soul Syndicate (Fully Fullwood, Santa Davis, Tony Chin), Pato Banton, Sly & Robbie, Alborosie, John Browns Body, Yellowman, Fortunate Youth & Piracy Conspiracy.

Individually the artists have achieved global recognition for work in other genres. Notably Werner with the co-write EDM single ‘Southern Sun’ with Paul Oakenfold reaching number one on the UK Dance Charts in 2003, and performed on now debunked 'Top of the Pops' with Robert Plant and Beyonce Knowles. Werner has toured with The Jayhawks, The Pretenders and supported such artists as Jeff Buckley, Leonard Cohen, Damien Rice to name a few. Wunderland has been a fixture on the SoCal reggae scene for several years touring with Pato Banton and working extensively with Fully Fullwood (Soul Syndicate).

N8VSOUL released their first single 'One To Ten' on August 22, 2019 from forthcoming EP due out early 2020. 'One To Ten' is a reggae-influenced rallying cry that speaks to our global contemporary challenges. Mixed by Justin Stanley (LA) and mastered by Gearbox Records (UK), the powerful single is a haunting and empowering expression of optimism in the face of the world's most critical, political, cultural and environmental challenges. In fact, the entire album follows suit with lyrical content that declares global corporatization and greed as the villain and love, that when multiplied, as the warrior to overcome it. The lyrics fall into the orbit of deep bass-laden tracks and dub beats, littered with samples and Werners ethereal vocal melodies, leaving you with the sensation of meditation from beginning to end. www.n8vsoul.com
