David and Shimna w/- Zoe Scott

David Shanhun and Shimna Higgins met years ago at the Bunker Hill Folk music club, and started playing as a duo in 2019 when they toured New Zealand together.
Individually David & Shimna have a pretty impressive resume - Shimna being the winner of both the Martin Blackman and the Frank Winter award at Auckland Folk Festival; David having a #1 single on iTunes NZ with ‘Jessie’ in 2020 along with multiple other releases reaching the top 10 in NZ Charts - but on stage together there’s a magic that really gels with their tight harmonies, infectious laughter and energy, and sizzling fiddle and guitar skills.
The duo have performed internationally at the Illawarra Folk Festival, are in demand for events and shows around Auckland where they’re currently based, and kicked off 2021 with two stellar performances at Revive Festival in Gisborne, NZ.
Described by their #1 fan in Mexico as being ‘like a good taco’ - you can expect that warm nourishing feeling you get from your favourite food after coming to a show with these two.
